This is a funded position. Grant-paying positions are subject to continued subsidies and the employee will be terminated without the right to lodge a complaint if the funds are terminated or no longer available.


These appointments will remain open until a sufficient number of eligible applicants have been identified and may be closed at any time once that number has been determined.


Performing various procedures to assist laboratory staff in the pre-test phase including the installation of replacement parts and the installation of equipment; provide general assistance to laboratory staff where required including clerical support.


Key Responsibilities and Responsibilities

  • Access to all types of labs with the help of LIS
  • Answers phone questions and routes to the appropriate staff
  • Introduction of biohazardous waste, specimens and media; complete testing and testing equipment
  • Resources for preparing laboratory samples for analysis
  • Perform venipuncture
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control functions as provided
  • Maintains lab cleanliness
  • Perform biohazardous waste disposal in accordance with departmental policy
  • Goods and storage of departmental goods
  • Clothes, lab coats and personal protective equipment; orders, types, sorting and storing lab equipment
  • Saves door files and scans papers
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control functions as provided
  • Assists lab staff as needed
  • Performs basic office and writing tasks as required
  • May order and / or prepare to test media, spots and reagents
  • Perform the test as permitted by a state license
  • Take and deliver specimens, documents, goods and equipment as requested to install public health facilities, courts and any other place where the District provides services that may include or SNHD laboratory

TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE GUIDELINES

Training:

It's like completing grade twelve

Experience:

Selected one year of technical laboratory experience

License or Certificate:

Acquisition, or acquisition, of a Nevada state certificate as a Laboratory Assistant and / or Technical Care Point within 90 days

Acquisition, or acquisition, of a valid Nevada Driver's license within 90 days

Conditions of Service:
