Requirements:
At least 18 years
Provide documentation for some of the following;
Equality diploma in high school or high school with six months of child care experience;
A.C., C.A.A., C.C.P., or CP.C verification
Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of childhood, child development, or a related field.
A minimum of 12 credit hours for early childhood education, elementary education and / or related field, and at least six (6) months of proven experience of working with children in popular group planning; or
You have training in early childhood education and at least eighteen (18) months of certified work experience with children organized as a group.

Responsibilities:
The Leading Teacher demonstrates leadership skills by maintaining a good learning / teaching environment for all staff and students. The Lead Teacher has the ability to create and implement appropriate activities for age groups and will provide leadership in the implementation of each program. Leading Teachers have a responsibility to provide a learning experience based on children, in approved curriculum programs in the classroom. The work includes, but is not limited to: instructing, managing, directing, supervising Teacher Assistant and Teacher Resources within the classroom and throughout the academic work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for staff, children and parents in good looks, morals and the use of appropriate behavior
- Adhere to and promote Sunrise policies and procedures on child care, promoting health, education and well-being for children
- Prepare and implement weekly learning and design plans and create new teaching materials to align with the curriculum, for approval by the Director or Assistant Director
- Organize and use personal and group activities related to the curriculum and classroom learning objectives, including but not limited to field trips, special events, groups, etc.
- Create and maintain accurate records for the progress of each child in the class, in addition to other relevant records
- Report to the teacher with special needs any developmental problems with special children assigned to the class. Support the Inclusion Program by involving children with special needs in classroom projects and activities and encourage other children to do the same.
- Report any suspected problems with the child's development, health or behavior to the Director or Assistant Director
- Hold meetings with parents when requested or deemed necessary
- Promote the development of self-help skills and a positive sense of self-esteem in children
- Take the lead role and responsibility of caring for the safety and security of the classroom and all other facilities
- Establishes and maintains appropriate classroom rules and procedures, while maintaining order
- Keep a current First Aid Card, CPR, and TB test results, in addition to attending professional meetings and workshops, as instructed
- Keep the teaching environment clean, safe and healthy
Follow all safety procedures while guiding children and performing tasks
Overseeing the classroom feeding program by linking a seafood meal and meal time between teachers and food service staff, including but not limited to the calculation of food as required by the Department of Health Services, proper portions, and post-meal cleaning
Keep a daily log of student meetings, treatments and risks. Notify the Director if appropriate
Accept any additional offers or assignments from the Director or Assistant Director
Participate in and promote parental involvement activities
Report diminished items in sufficient time to prevent replacements
Attend staff meetings and during training, suggest a CDA program with staff
Act as a representative of Sunrise to external clients, i.e., the parent community, etc.
